Dr. Sylvia (Greenman) Ouellette graduated from the University of California at Davis in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science in Zoology and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. In 2005, after an extensive application and examination process, Dr. Ouellette became a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Equine Practice. She has also obtained her Radiation Safety Officer license and Supervisory User license for radioactive materials and helps to oversee the functioning of the Southern California Equine Foundation, Inc. Nuclear Medicine Facility at Santa Anita Race Track in beautiful Arcadia, California.
Dr. Ouellette is also an associate professor at Western University, School of Veterinary Medicine, and a preceptorship site for the students. She also serves on the Student Relations Committee of the American Association of Equine Practitioners.
Some of Dr. Ouellette’s favorite pastimes include SCUBA diving, underwater photography and traveling. She has been to many exotic locales over the years diving and taking pictures. Ask to see her photos sometime!
Jessica Anderson, RVT, Office Manager
Jessica was raised in Southern California and has been riding horses almost all of her life. She was an exercise rider at the Thoroughbred racetrack and has owned many ex-racehorses. She even finds homes for retired Thoroughbreds once they leave the track!
Jessica joined us in 2004 as a technician, and began working in the office in 2008. She had worked many years as a small animal technician in Los Angeles and her extensive knowledge of horses and her excellent horsemanship skills has made her a wonderful addition to the team. She is also a fountain of information when it comes to riding equipment, especially bits, from her work experience at Broken Horn (where many of you may recognize her from!).
Michelle Watts, Veterinary Technician
Michelle Watts was born and raised in Southern California. She’s been riding since 1992 and has tried and competed in all disciplines, English and Western, and has stuck with barrel racing. The last few years she’s also taken up roping. Before joining Elite Equine Veterinary Services, Michelle worked at several feed and tack stores to learn as much as she could about all things horse related. In her free time she enjoys dirt bike riding and playing with her dogs.
